December 05, 2011 - EDITING YOUR PROJECTS

Everybody by now has had an opportunity to do some video editing in class.

ASSIGNMENT
In 3-5 sentences tell us more about this process as it pertains to our GP Class Project.

Ask yourselves the following questions :

What did you like?
What did you not like?
Was it difficult or easy for you to learn?  Why or Why not?
What clips while you were watching and editing surprised you?  And how come?
How might you do things differently the next time?

Reflect upon your production (filming) experience.  Of the roles: interviewer, director, camera person, and boom mike

1) What are the most important things to remember for each role and

2) Which did you enjoy the most?  If you have not participated in every role, speak to the ones you have.  

This is a two part question, so I should see two distinct answers.

1) Write a short paragraph about what worked well for this documentary and why.  Think of the A Roll, B Roll, Music, Text, Style of the interview. 

2) Was there something that did not work well for you?  What was this, list and describe why.

3) In class we are learning about the 'Editing' process, can you describe something you noticed in this film in regards to the editing. Was it effective? Why or Why not?

4) Would you recommend this film to someone else?

Week of November 7

Write 3-5 sentences on the planning and pre-production process.  What are the most interesting things about creating a documentary?  What are the most difficult things about creating a documentary?  Due 11.11 (Friday)

Describe the most interesting TV commercial you have seen recently.

Students, for this assignment, we want you to use the terminology that you learned in this class to describe the most interesting TV commercial you have seen in recent memory.  Your description needs to be 3-5 sentences long, and completed by next week Tuesday's class.  We are going to review these comments in class.  Each comment is worth 10 points.
